Job Type:
Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locate underground gas lines.
- Complete installations, repairs, and upgrades to gas meters.
- Respond to emergency calls, service interruptions, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in aerial and ground leak detection.
- Use GIS, work order systems, and field technology to record work activities and system data.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and technical documents.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and confidently with customers in a variety of situations.
Preferred:
- Gas Utility Operator certification or related technical training.
- Experience in natural gas distribution or utilities.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., CSA standards, provincial safety codes).
- Experience with GIS systems, line locating equipment, and field service tools.
Working conditions:
- Field-based role that involves substantial driving each day, exposure to outdoor environments and livestock.
- Physical requirements include walking, lifting, and bending.
- Participation in after-hours standby rotation and emergency response.
Job Type:
1 x Full-time permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in person.
1 x Seasonal from April to October, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair natural gas PE main lines
- Perform fusions, pressure testing and system tie-ins
- Conduct leak detection and system inspections
- Assist with excavation, boring, backfilling and site clean up
- Maintain accurate digital field documentation and reports
Qualifications:
- Class 1, 3 or 5 with Air Brake (Q) endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as a picker truck, backhoe, plow, track hoe and skid steer.
- Experience in natural gas distribution or utilities would be an asset.
- Experience with GIS systems, line locating equipment, hand and power tools.
